Indian Trails

2016 marked a major milestone for the Ashtabula Township Park system with the completion of the Riverview Bridge. (pictured below right) Riverview Covered Pedestrian Bridge is a 150-foot-long by 14 feet wide Pratt and Truss design spanning across the Ashtabula Scenic River. The Bridge is also the 19th and newest addition to the county's unique covered bridges. After several years and the determination of the Ashtabula Township Park Commission the funding was secured from Ohio Department of Natural Resources Clean Ohio Trails Grant, Ashtabula Foundation Grant, and a Recoverable Grant from the Ashtabula County Civic Development Corporation to bring this project to reality.

In the summer of 2010 a Educational/Informational pavilion (pictured below left) built at Indian Trails Park near the Smolen Gulf Bridge. The pavilion was built with all volunteer labor and was funded with several sponsors. All can be found named on a plaque located at the pavilion. Information on laminated colorful panels include information on the Ashtabula Scenic River, The Ashtabula Township Parks, Cleveland Museum of Natural History, The Lake Erie Scenic By-way, Covered bridges around the county, museums and historical facts can be found at the site.
